Medicare Solutions That Fit Your Needs

Medicare supplement insurance can be a complicated topic. Our experts can help you to determine which plan is the best fit for you.

Medicare is a government-sponsored health insurance program available to most people aged 65 or older and who have paid into Social Security. It’s divided into several sections with differing costs and choices.

Part A covers hospital treatment costs. In most cases there’s no premium payment, but recipients pay a deductible and also pay some coinsurance depending upon their medical treatments throughout the year.

Part B covers medical treatments outside of hospitals. Part B has an annual premium that is dependent on the recipient’s income and Social Security benefits. Recipients also pay a deductible and coinsurance.

Part C, also known as Medicare Advantage (MA) Plans are private health plans that are approved by Medicare and offer an alternative to Original Medicare. Part C plans can include Parts A, B, and usually Part D. MA plans can have lower out-of-pocket costs than Original Medicare and may offer additional benefits like vision, hearing, and dental services. They can also provide non-medical benefits such as debit cards for groceries, help with utility bills, and credits for over-the-counter health items.

Part D helps Medicare beneficiaries pay for outpatient prescription drugs and some vaccines. Part D is offered through private insurance companies approved by the federal government, and costs and coverage may vary by plan.

Health care and out of pocket costs for Medicare participants are on the rise, making the need for these products even greater. With the advice of your Erie agent, selecting a Medicare solution that fits your unique needs can set your mind at ease.
